Jane Adams is a highly motivated and
organized professional with twenty years of association management experience
with state and national park and recreation non-profit organizations. Jane possesses strong communication and leadership skills with the
ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Currently, Jane is Executive Director of the California Park & Recreation Society in Sacramento, California. As one of the largest park and recreation professional organizations in
the country with over 4200 members, CPRS provides the leadership to advance the
positive impact and value of the profession on society. Jane was a member of the
CPRS VIP Steering Committee that developed the profession's first strategic
plan, Creating Community in the 21st Century, and is now instrumental
in the statewide implementation of the plan. Jane actively seeks opportunities to advocate for the profession at the
state and national levels to develop collaborative relationships to achieve
professional and organizational goals. She
networks regularly with a variety of state and national organizations and
agencies. She serves as the CPRS
spokesperson to national, state, and local government officials; nonprofit
organizations; and federal and state agencies. She is a frequent speaker to local, state and national organizations;
speaking before audiences of 20 to 2,000. She
is trained in public speaking, achieving CTM (Competent Toastmaster) designation
by Toastmasters, International. Member:

Society, and the American Society of Association Executives. She recently joined
the Dean's Leadership Council for Penn State University's Department of Health
and Human Development. Graduate of Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, IL,
and Master's Degree from Indiana University, Bloomington, IN. She received the
Garrett G. Eppley Distinguished Alumni Award from Indiana University's
Recreation and Park Administration in 1997. Jane enjoys reading, traveling,
cooking, and hiking. She lives in
Sacramento with husband David and daughter Katie.
