Alice Conkey was Administrator of
Enterprise Facilities for the Maryland National Capital Park and Planning
Commission prior to her retirement in 2001. She served for 12 years on the NRPA
Board of Trustees and was President of NRPA in 2000-2001. Known for her high
energy and enthusiasm, Ms. Conkey had a long and distinguished track record of
service with NRPA and has earned a reputation as "someone who gets things
done." In her leadership roles she has displayed vision, strong leadership,
resourcefulness and an effectiveness at bringing people together to achieve
consensus. Ms. Conkey has made a difference in the lives of many people and
organizations by frequently taking on an advocacy role for those who
needed assistance.
