Doug Knapp is
currently an Associate Professor at Indiana University and Coordinator, Outdoor
Recreation and Resource Option, Recreation and Park Administration at Indiana
University. Other position held include Undergraduate Coordinator, Recreation and Park
Administration, Indiana University (1994-1999); Director, Hilltop Garden and
Nature Center, Indiana University (1993-1995); Research/Teaching Assistant,
Southern Illinois University (1990-1992); Science Education Instructor, Southern
Illinois University (1990-1991); and Director, University of Rhode Island
Environmental Education Center (1986-1990). Doug
received his B.S. from Miami University, Ohio; M.S. degree from Northern
Illinois University; and his Ph.D. from Southern Illinois University. Some
honors and awards include: Indiana University's Teaching Excellence Recognition
Award (1998, 1997), voted Best Professor at Indiana University by the Bloomington
Voice Newspaper (1997), and the U.S. Forest Service (Eastern Region)
Wilderness Education Excellence Award (1994). Doug is also a member of the
National Association of Interpretation, North American Association of
Environmental Education, National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), and
the Indiana Parks and Recreation Association.
