Doug MacDougall is the current Director of Recreation for the Town of Weston, Massachusetts. He has been in the field of Recreation since 1970 and became a certified professional in 1977. He graduated from Greenfield Community College with an Associate of Science Degree in Recreation Leadership and a Bachelors of Science degree in Recreation Administration from Southern Connecticut State College. He served as Director of Recreation in Middlebury, Vermont for ten years and in Westwood, Massachusetts for four years.

MacDougall has served in many capacities with Vermont and Massachusetts Recreation and Park Associations over the past 30 years. Currently he serves as Treasure, and a member of the Committee to research the need for a full time Executive Director within Massachusetts. He has also served as the Vermont and Massachusetts State Coordinator for the Hershey Youth Track and Field Program, and New England Regional Council Representative. He was also elected as a member of the APRS Board of Directors representing New England.

Since 1980, MacDougall has made numerous presentations to Recreation and Park professionals thru out the United States, Canada and Germany. The majority of his workshops and lectures have been on sponsorships, creative programming, special events, managing a one person department, revenue development, dealing with stress in the field of recreation, festivals.  He has also presented a number of workshops and has been called upon to lecture at numerous colleges and universities.

He has also enjoyed working with a number of State and international park and recreation associations, institutes and schools. the Central New York Recreation and Park Society, Central Ontario Municipal Association, Eastern Ontario Recreation Society, Festivals Ontario Canada,  European Recreation Society, Maryland National Park and Planning, Navy Morale, Welfare and Recreation, Niagara Frontier Recreation and Park Society, Northeast Camping Association, White Plain Recreation and Parks, Illinois State Association, Clark County- Nevada, Florida State Association and the National Recreation and Park Congress, Bob Arts Innovative Forum, Edith Upchurch Innovative Forum and Pacific Marketing and Revenue Sources Management School.

MacDougall has received the The Charles Green Award for Outstanding Leadership and service to the Greenfield Community, The Jim Paprosky Award   for Outstanding Leadership to the Southern Connecticut State College Community, The Robert Collins Award for outstanding Leadership to the Middlebury Community, The Award of Appreciation - Massachusetts Hershey Youth Track and Field Program, The Joe Trapasso Programmer's Award for Outstanding Program Development, The Peter C. O'Brien Humanitarian Award for the Accomplishments and Dedication to Leisure Services , this is the highest recognition that the Massachusetts Recreation and Park Associations presents and The Paul Harris Fellow Award  for Outstanding Services to the Weston Community and Rotary International.

Doug is married and has three children. When he is not at work, Doug has held or consulted to Five Guinness World records.
