Until June 2018, she was public Park and Recreation Director for 25 years, most recently leading a team for the past 10 years in Brookline, MA, an urban community adjacent to Boston. Lisa is also the founder of Agents of Change, an organization of thought leaders who promote, support and implement positive change by engaging in unique problem-solving approaches to the challenges in public park and recreation. Presenting at dozens of local, state and national venues on a variety of topics in the Health, Wellness and Recreation world, Lisa is nationally known as a speaker, trainer and facilitator. She has been a featured guest on both local and national radio and has published several industry articles in national publications. Lisa earned a BA in Political Science and an MBA at the University of Massachusetts.

She is honored to have helped create better communities through a variety of tangible accomplishments, but she is most proud of her time as a leader of people in public service. As a leader, mentor, and often provocateur, she has challenged people to be the best versions of themselves they can be, and to help agencies and communities to embrace systemic challenges and connecting the dots to achieve unimagined greatness. A thinker and problem solver, she has found success unraveling knots to find synergy in organizations for the past 25 years, both as park and recreation director and as a consultant to government agencies across the country.

Growing up in Boston with a bunch of brothers, sports and fitness played a major part in her life. Lisa is a former swimmer and coach and has a natural gravitational pull toward water of any kind which she shares with her two grown sons, Connor and Bennett (her most amazing achievements to date), who remind her what it’s like to be young, inspired and idealistic.
